This study was born out of a spirit that grieved after hearing a pastor deliver the following message, and I a paraphrase, “We are created in the image God and therefore have the ability to speak, i.e. create our future. As support for this look at Job, he bewailed his fate, in a manner declaring, ‘This is the story of my .life’, and what he feared therefore came upon him; Job 3:25  For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.”

While listening to the message, so many thoughts from sadness to anger raced through my mind:

Just a quick thought following a song that I heard.

Was it a morning like this? It may well be today, let's look up as our redemption draws nigh.
"Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words." (Thessalonians 4:17-18).
Maranatha, Even so come Lord Jesus.
I was recently grieved in my spirit to learn that the Western church was going to use the latest Superman Movie as a form of outreach and as a foundation to teach their congregations. Of course this is not new; the following is just a sample list of movies that resulted in ensuing Bible studies:
  • The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
  • Evan Almighty
  • Prince Caspian
  • The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe
  • Bruce Almighty
  • Harry Potter
